How do I place a hold on a book that is currently checked out?

Search the catalogue, open the book's details page, and click "Place Hold" while logged in to the Patron Portal. You'll be notified once it's available, and you'll have 5 days to collect it — after that it may be issued to the next person on the waiting list.
